Allyson Felix

Allyson Michelle Felix was born in Los Angeles on November 18 1985. Paul Felix, her father was an ordained minister at Master's Seminary Sun Valley. Marlean Felix worked at Balboa Magnet school for children in the elementary grades. Felix discovered early that she was gifted in running while attending Los Angeles Baptist High School. After a few weeks of the first time she tried out her skills, she placed second in 200m in the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix finished high school in 2003 and signed with Adidas an agreement as professional athlete. In the following year, she enrolled at the University of Southern California studying elementary education. Felix won her first Olympic gold medal during the Athens Summer Olympics 2004. Felix broke a junior-world record of running the 200m in 22.18. Felix became the world's youngest winner in the 200m in the 2005 Helsinki World Championships and defended her title in 2007 by beating her time-tested Jamaican rival Veronica Campbell. Felix was consistently within the top three throughout her events at the Olympics held in Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo.
